Which Optimum Nutrition whey protein tastes best?

The Optimum Nutrition whey protein powders are the cheapest decent-tasting protein powders available today. They pack 24 grams of protein per scoop, and while some others may have slightly more protein, fewer carbs, or taste slightly better, it’s hard to beat the price on these. I’ve compiled a list of my favorites below.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Chocolate Mint: This is one of the better ON flavors, and I find that the mint taste goes well with almond milk, whole milk, skim milk, or, if you’re hardcore, plain cold water! If you’re drinking straight shakes, this is the way to go.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Cookies & Cream: The black specks are a bit offputting. Sure, it gives you the sort-of idea that you’re having Oreo-flavored protein, but it’s not a good look. Regardless, this TASTES great. It’s a blend of cakey-vanilla with chocolate, and goes well with almond milk or cow’s milk, though is a bit thin with water.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Rocky Road: Adds a great nutty flavor and a hint of marshmallow to the regular chocolate taste. Nice for when you’re tired of the neverending stream of chocolate in your protein shakes or recipes. (Also tastes great blended into our 69g-protein chocolate pudding if you’re feeling adventurous!)
